During the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike Borden along with fellow Late Show writers Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel, Bill Scheft, Matt Roberts, Tom Ruprecht, Jeremy Weiner, Steve Young Lee Ellenberg, and Joe Grossman posted their "thoughts and observations" at

On April 20, 2009, Borden announced on his blog that he had been unemployed for a few weeks, but was keeping busy by applying to other shows.
