Bösendorfer (L. Bösendorfer Klavierfabrik GmbH) is an Austrian piano manufacturer, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Yamaha. A Bösendorfer piano has a very rich, singing, and sustaining tone. Some Bösendorfer pianos are noted for their dark, full-bodied sound compared with other models. The company is unusual in producing 97- and 92-key models in addition to instruments with standard 88-key keyboards.
