Boyd moved in to Ramsay Street as a mulleted youngster in early 2002, along with his sister Summer (Marisa Siketa) and their grandmother, Rosie (Maggie Millar). The three were soon joined by Boyd and Summer's father, Max (Stephen Lovatt), and Rosie left for Fiji. At first he dated Heather Green (Megan Harrington), a girl he did practically anything for. He really liked her and even attempted to steal a street sign for her. She soon grew tired of Boyd and his immaturity and dumped him.
Boyd later moved onto neighbour, Harold Bishop's (Ian Smith) granddaughter, Sky Mangel (Stephanie McIntosh),to whom he lost his virginity in early 2004.
