Fehr was born in New Westminster, British Columbia to a mother who worked as a correctional case manager and a yacht manufacturer father. He moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1990 and was raised a strict Mennonite.
Fehr now lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife, Jennifer Rowley (wed July, 2006). Fehr and his wife have recently welcomed a daughter, James Olivia, born March 26, 2008. His favourite sports are skiing, snowboarding and playing ice hockey and his favourite band is Metallica. He previously dated Roswell co-star Majandra Delfino during filming of the series.
