In 1999 it ceased to be an investment trust and relisted as Brit Insurance Holdings plc. In 2007 it was included, for the first time, in the FTSE4Good Index.
Brit Insurance has a diversified portfolio of businesses both in terms of geographic location and types of business, writing more than 70 classes of insurance worldwide. Business is written through two underwriting platforms - Brit Insurance Limited and Brit Syndicate 2987 at Lloyd's managed by Brit Syndicates Limited.
