You can browse for information in Freebase just like you would in any other site, though we have a couple features we think make the Freebase experience unique, and our information just a bit more interesting.
You can start by clicking on any of the Commons categories listed on the Explore page. These include things like American Football, Comic Books, Music, People, and Wine. When you click on any of these categories you'll see a list of featured bases, as well as a link through to that Commons.
In the Commons area you'll find a list of all the topics in that Commons organized by topic categories. For example, the Music Commons has its topics organized by categories such as Musical Artist, Musical Group, Musical Genre, and Musical Instrument (technically, these categories are called types, and at the bottom of each topic you'll see all the different types it's associated with). Click on any of these topic categories to see a list of those topics. The cool thing when you view the list of topics is that they're presented in a table view that lets you filter the topics. This is explained in detail in Using the Filter View , but let's say you're looking at all the topics associated with the Musical Artist type. You could use the filter view to find, for example, all the Hard Rock Guitarists.
