This album sounds different to other Allin material, with a more "professional" recording quality. Backing band The Murder Junkies [the second GG Allin backing band to bear the name] give a slicker sound to the music, something quite uncommon since Allin's stint with The Jabbers. William Gilmore Weber's guitar playing imparts a "heavier" sound to the music, making this album sound more like heavy metal than punk rock. Allin's vocal performance style had by this point evolved into a deep, animalistic roar which one critic likened to "a deranged Muppet".
On the track, "Shoot, Knife, Strangle, Beat, and Crucify", back up vocals are partially sung by Johnny Puke (of the band Cletus), the tenant of the apartment where Allin would later die from a heroin overdose in 1993, shortly...
