The film begins with a very bloody corpse of a man in a blue-lit room that has tin-foil everywhere. Then the scene changes to Agnes White (Ashley Judd), who is smoking Marijuana outside of her motel room when her phone rings. She answers it, but no one says anything. Flustered, she goes about her business but her phone continues ringing. Every time she picks it up, no one says anything. She thinks that it’s her ex-husband Jerry Goss who just got out of prison (and whom she has a restraining order against). However, she can’t confirm this because the caller never says anything.
