Bunta Sugawara (菅原文太, Sugawara Bunta) (August 16, 1933 - ) is a Japanese actor from Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. He is the father of Kaoru Sugawara along with two daughters. Sugawara's debut came in the 1956 Toho film Aishu-no machi-ni Yuki-ga Furu. He starred in movies by the Japanese studios Shintoho, Shochiku and Toei.
