The wing comprises F-16 Fighting Falcons, C-130 Hercules, A-10 Thunderbolt IIs, MQ-1B Predator UAVs and HH-60 Pave Hawks. Located about 40 miles north Baghdad, Balad AB is home to the busiest single-runway operation in the Department of Defense. The wing's hospital is the busiest trauma center in the world and serves as the coalition medical hub for all of Iraq.
