Film became his passion in his junior year of high school while playing football at Hudson's Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington. He attended Cornish College of the Arts on an acting scholarship and graduated with his BFA. He continued his acting training at the Yale School of Drama graduating with an MFA. He then spent eight years in New York City acting with various theater companies, regional theater, as well as television and film. He is married to Lara Cho.
Lee was made a series regular cast member on the first season of the Showtime series Dexter, playing the role of Vince Masuka, a forensic scientist.
Lee played Dr. Ba on the HBO drama series, The Sopranos. He is also often seen on the trailers for The Unborn, as the doctor in the beginning.
