The Canon PowerShot S2 IS is a 5.0 megapixel digital camera that debuted in 2005. It is the second of Canon's cameras in the superzoom category, with an integrated 12x zoom lens and image stabilization technology (IS). Its predecessor was the Canon PowerShot S1 IS. It is succeeded by the Canon PowerShot S3 IS which has similar features but an improved 6 Megapixel CCD resolution and a larger LCD.
