It serves girls from ages 3 through 18. Opened in 1895, it is one of the schools of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST). Prior to Mrs Griffin taking charge of the school, Mrs Chapman was headmistress for a long and successful period of time which saw the school grow in reputation and numbers.
In 2006 Mrs Hilary Jane French took over as Headmistress from Mrs Griffin. Mrs French is a Graduate of Oxford University.
