In 1996 Cesar Gracie received another certificate from Carlos Gracie Jr., founder of Confederação Brasileira de Jiu-Jitsu (CBJJ) and son of Carlos Gracie who along with brother Helio Gracie were the co-founders of "Gracie Jiu Jitsu", also known as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Cesar Gracie was the 3rd Gracie in North America to open a Gracie Jiu Jitsu Gym (the first was his uncle Carley Gracie in 1972 and his cousin Rorion Gracie in 1978.
