Flip Wilson starred as Charlie Richmond, a civil servant married to Diana (Gladys Knight), a school teacher. The couple had three children, Charlie, Jr. (Kristoff St. John), daughter Lauren (Fran Robinson), and Robert (Jaleel White). Della Reese joined the cast during the latter half of the first season as Charlie's sister Rachel.
