Cherbourg-Octeville is a commune in the Manche department in Normandy in north-western France. It was formed when the city of Cherbourg absorbed Octeville on 28 February 2000, and was officially renamed Cherbourg-Octeville. Cherbourg holds an arsenal of the French Navy.
