Japanese Cinema is a hard thing to clearly define. “According to Japanese directors, making use of Japanese actors, filming in Japan, and screening a Japanese movie in Japan” are said to be the requirements of the foundation. Applying those few things, in general, can call itself Japanese Cinema. Because of that, Takamine Gou filming a Ryukyuan movie, Kurosawa Akira and Ooshima Nagisa filmed movies with French funds as capital, Sai Yoichi controlling Koreans living in Japan by means of movies.
