"Cinnamon's Wake" is the fifth episode of the first season of the television series Gilmore Girls. It originally aired on November 2, 2000. At the Chilton bake sale, Lorelai runs into Max Medina. Although they are attracted to each other, she is reluctant to date him, so instead they arrange to "run into each other" at a coffee shop in Hartford. At the coffee shop, Max convinces Lorelai to go to dinner with him. When they hear that Morey and Babette's cat Cinnamon has died, Rory and Lorelai rush over to comfort them. Morey is worried that it is his fault for feeding her bad clams from Al's Pancake World, but the vet assures them that it was simply old age. They host a wake which is attended by most of the town. Rory runs into Dean at the wake, but she is so shy that she has trouble talking to him. Later he apologizes for bothering her so much, and says that he sees now that she isn't interested in him.
