CityA.M. is a free London-based freesheet that specialises in financial news. It started in 2005, making it the first one of its type in the world — according to the owners of the paper. It is completely owned by CITYA.M. Limited. The paper covers business and finance news aimed at young business professionals in the City, with the format of a tabloid with lighter amount of text and more colourful pictures as well as having diary, lifestyle and sports sections.
At start, it was intended as a free rival to the likes of the Financial Times and Daily Telegraph business section. It is available from Monday to Friday each week in using both targeted distribution 'bins' (often placed inside businesses) in the City and as well as uniformed hand-distributors outside tube stations in the Central London area and at Canary Wharf and at the four airports of London (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and London City).
