The City of Bayside is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the southern suburbs of Melbourne. It has an area of 36 square kilometres. At the 2006 census, it had a population of 87,936. In 1858, after receiving two petitions, the Government proclaimed the Municipality of Brighton.
