Clarke Peters (born 7 April 1952) is an American actor, singer, writer and director best known for his role as Detective Lester Freamon on the HBO drama The Wire. Peters was born Peter Clarke in New York City and grew up in Englewood, New Jersey where he graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in 1970.
