On the 18th of October, 1987, as Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila’s canonization rites at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome began, the cornerstone laying ceremonies of Colegio de San Lorenzo in Quezon City began. The founders dedicated the school to San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila to honor and perpetuate the memory of the first Filipino saint.
