His father Albert Manning (Hugh Dillon) has never forgiven Craig's mother, Julia, for leaving him. Dr. Manning off-handledly refers to Julia as having left him for Joey Jeremiah (Pat Mastroianni); it is not clear, however, that Julia had even met Joey before leaving. Dr. Manning's statement may be either an over-simplification in discussion, or a distortion born of his emotional instability and sense of persecution.
As a young boy, attended his mother's wedding to Joey, at which time he danced with slightly younger Emma Nelson, the daughter of Joey's friends Christine "Spike" Nelson and Shane McKay.
