Dafydd Rhys James (born 24 July 1975 in Mufulira, Zambia) is a Welsh international rugby union footballer who plays on the wing or in the centre. He toured with the British and Irish Lions in 2001. He has earned 45 caps for Wales and three for the British & Irish Lions.

His previous clubs include Llanelli, Bridgend, Pontypridd and Harlequins before joining Llanelli Scarlets in 2005. In 2006, he became the first player to score 25 tries in the Heineken Cup. He took his overall tally in this competition to 28 tries in March 2007 with the Scarlets' first try against Munster in the quarter-final stage.
In May 2009 he was released by the Scarlets and joined Bridgend Ravens. Then, on the 22 July 2009, he signed for Welsh side Cardiff Blues.
