It was first announced on 1 March 2008 that Rebecca Grant had been cast in the new role of Daisha. Grant said of her casting: "When I found out I had got the role, I was really overjoyed - it was my first television. It's been really hectic but good fun. The other actors have been fantastic and the directors are great too. Some characters get a huge introduction, but mine has a 'flow' to it. I've got a good storyline coming up - but I can't say much about it!"
