Dale Lavelle Carter (born November 28, 1969 in Covington, Georgia) is a former American football cornerback who played for the Kansas City Chiefs (1992–1998), Denver Broncos (1999–2000), Minnesota Vikings (2001), New Orleans Saints (2002–2003), and Baltimore Ravens (2003–2005). Carter was drafted as a cornerback by the Chiefs in the 1992 NFL Draft out of the University of Tennessee and became a vital part of the Chiefs' defense in the 1990s under Marty Schottenheimer. In 1992 Carter was chosen as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. His career was magnificent in his earlier years. After the 2005 season, Carter retired from the NFL and started a non profit organization to assist young men and women from making the same mistakes that he made.
