Carter was drafted as a cornerback by the Chiefs in the 1992 NFL Draft out of the University of Tennessee and became a vital part of the Chiefs' defense in the 1990s under Marty Schottenheimer. In 1992 Carter was chosen as the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. His career was magnificent in his earlier years. After the 2005 season, Carter retired from the NFL and started a non profit organization to assist young men and women from making the same mistakes that he made. The Dale Carter Foundation is based out of Covington Ga and Dallas/Ft.Worth TX and it's vision is "To empower and enhance the lives of today's youth by giving them a voice of hope".
