Daniel William Lipinski (born July 15, 1966) is an American Democratic Party politician. He is a member of the United States House of Representatives representing Illinois's 3rd congressional district (map), having been elected in 2004 to succeed his father, Bill Lipinski. Immediately prior to his election to Congress, he served on the University of Tennessee faculty from 2001 to 2004. From 2000 to 2001, he served on the faculty at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to joining the Notre Dame faculty, he had served briefly on the staff of then-U.S. Congressman Rod Blagojevich.
