Daniel Grian 'Danny' Alexander (born 15 May 1972), is a Scottish politician, and the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey. He was also Lib Dem shadow secretary of state for Work and Pensions.

Daniel Grian 'Danny' Alexander (born 15 May 1972), is a Scottish politician, and the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey. He was also Lib Dem shadow secretary of state for Work and Pensions.
Alexander was educated at Lochaber High School in Fort William and St Anne's College, Oxford where he obtained a degree in PPE. In 1993 he became a press officer with the Scottish Liberal Democrats until he became the Director of Communications at the European Movement in 1996, remaining in this role when the organisation was subsumed into the now defunct Britain in Europe campaign in 1999. In 2004 he became the Head of Communications for the Cairngorms National Park.
