Gribben made his debut for Hamilton Academical at the age of 16 against East Fife in the Scottish Cup on January 20, 2003. Gribben made his debut for Cowdenbeath on September 11, 2004 against Elgin City. Gribben scored his first goal for Cowdenbeath against Peterhead on September 25, 2004. Gribben scored 12 goals during his only season at the club before signing for Forfar Athletic on August 31, 2005.
