Daviess County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of 2000, the population was 8,016. Its county seat is Gallatin. The county was organized in 1836 and is named after Col. Joseph Hamilton Daviess of Kentucky, who was killed in 1811 at the Battle of Tippecanoe.
