Nick Hume is husband to Helen, and father to two boys, Brendan and Lucas. After a hockey game, Nick and his oldest son Brendan, the star of the team, drive home and talk of Brendan's future. The pair flash their headlights at two passing cars with their headlights off. They then make a quick stop at a gas station to get some fuel.
