Originally Debbie's personality was slightly odd - she was shown to possess an unhealthy obsession with babies, to the extent of kidnapping a young boy from his birthday party, albeit with good intentions. After a frantic operation by the rest of the family to return the child, Debbie learned the benefits of lying. Upon the departure of her elder sister,Fiona, Debbie quickly became head of the household and took care of duties such as cooking and taking Liam to school.
