Dennis Gentenaar (born September 30, 1975 in Nijmegen, Gelderland) is a Dutch football goalkeeper who currently plays for VVV-Venlo.

Dennis Gentenaar (born September 30, 1975 in Nijmegen, Gelderland) is a Dutch football goalkeeper who currently plays for VVV-Venlo.
Coming from the amateur side ZOW Gentenaar made his professional debut at NEC on November 26, 1995 aged 20, at home against PSV Eindhoven which NEC lost 5-0. Gentenaar made another appearance later that season, but had to wait until 1998 to make another appearance in professional football. That season he played 7 matches, still being the second goalkeeper at NEC. From the 2000-01 season on things changed for Gentenaar and he became NEC's first goalkeeper. Since then he only missed out on a total of 9 appearances in five seasons, of which the last three seasons he did not miss one single match.
He grew out to be a trustworthy goalkeeper and his performances earned him a transfer to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. A year later he returned to the Eredivisie to become second goalkeeper behind Maarten Stekelenburg at Ajax, which whom he won the 2007 KNVB...
