Dimitri Bashkirow

Dmitri Bashkirov (Russian: Дмитрий Александрович Башкиров; born November 1, 1931, Tbilisi, Georgia) is a Russian pianist and educator. Bashkirov studied piano in Tbilisi with Anastasia Virsaladze, and at the Moscow Conservatoire with Alexander Goldenweiser. He took 2nd prize in the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris in 1955, and received the Robert Schumann Prize in Zwickau in 1970.
