Drop Tower: Scream Zone, formerly known as Drop Zone: Stunt Tower, is a general name given to drop tower thrill rides of varying sizes owned by five Cedar Fair amusement and theme parks, which include all five former Paramount Parks.
Prior to their acquisition by Cedar Fair, the parks were owned by Paramount Parks, where the rides were named after the Paramount film Drop Zone. All the rides were built by the Swiss ride manufacturer, Intamin AG and are either the Gyro Drop, or Giant Drop models. All of the rides are currently operating.
After Cedar Fair purchased Paramount Parks, they were required to remove all Paramount Pictures references and as a result, renamed many of their rides that were named based on Paramount films, such as Top Gun, Tomb Raider: The Ride, and Italian Job: Stunt Track. They managed to keep three of the four of the words of "Drop Zone: Stunt Tower" in the renaming, through rearranging some of the words, and replacing the word stunt with scream.
