Dutch Neck Elementary was built in a colonial style, and was established in the 1930s. There is one large, central building but no peripheries to it. It has not been expanded much afterwards, although there are some plans under way to add new sections.
In 2001, Dutch Neck Elementary School was ranked within the top 100 elementary schools in New Jersey Monthly Magazine. It also earned Star School recognition for Best Practices in Mathematics and has been recognized by Red Book Magazine as one of America's Best Schools.
