Édouard Belin was born in Vesoul on March 5, 1876, and died on March 4, 1963 in Territet (Canton of Vaud, Switzerland). He is the inventor in 1907 of a phototelegraphic apparatus called the Bélinographe, a system able to send remote photographs, via telephone and telegraphic networks.
