Enumerated Properties

An enumerated property is similar to an enumerated type; in both cases, the aim is to restrict the information that can be entered for that type or property. Enumerated properties have an additional function - they can be used to assign a unique value to a topic. An example of this is the NetFlix ID property in the /film/film/ type. Every value entered for NetFlix ID must be a unique value, and when used in conjunction with a unique namespace, an enumerated type ensures a unique identifier for every topic in that namespace.

Instructions on creating enumerated properties and unique namespaces can be found in the Creating Enumerated Properties help topic.
