Palladino was born and raised in Yonkers, New York, the son of a school teacher and heating contractor from the Bronx. He is the youngest of three sons born into an Italian-American family. When he was 12 years old, he decided he wanted to be an actor after watching Robert De Niro's performance in the 1980 film Raging Bull. Another big influence for Palladino was John Belushi on Saturday Night Live. In 1981 he joined the Children's Repertory Company (CRC) in New Rochelle when he was 13 years old. This was his first foray into acting. He has been quoted as saying, "Finding acting and music was a good outlet for me...had I not gotten those outlets I may have ended up in trouble." And he did.
