Everly was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Don Everly of the Everly Brothers and actress Venetia Stevenson. Her siblings are brother musician Edan Everly and sister Stacy Everly. Soap opera actress Anna Lee was her grandmother and her grandfather was Robert Stevenson (director). She is also niece to Phil Everly from the Everly Brothers.
Everly moved to New York in 1982 to model for Wilhelmina Models. She appeared in many print ads and commercials in the 80s for the likes of Jordache, Bebe, and Guess. She appeared in two music videos by Guns N' Roses: "Sweet Child o' Mine" and the unreleased video for "It's So Easy".
