Ernesto Beckmann Geisel, (Portuguese pronunciation: [eɾˈnɛstu ˈbɛkmɐ̃ ˈɡajzew]; 3 August 1907 – 12 September 1996) was a Brazilian military leader and politician of German descent who was President of Brazil from 1974 to 1979.
