Estelle is an Australian transsexual who was instrumental in gaining recognition for transsexual and transgender people through her solo campaign to gain rights for transsexuals. In 1986, she was labelled "Australia’s First Sex-Change Pin-up Girl". She is said to be the most photographed transsexual in Australia today.
Born in Bowral, and raised in Berrima, New South Wales, Estelle is the first child of Barry and Sylvia Croot. Her name at birth has not been disclosed. She has a sister, Belinda.
