The Estonian Draft horse (also called Eston-Arden) was developed by suppressive crossing of native Estonian horses with purebred Swedish Ardennes stallions. The goal was to develop a tough working horse, and greatest attention was paid in selection towards leanness, good conversion of food, calm temperament, and quick movement.
