The University of Hagen (German: FernUniversität in Hagen) is a public research university focused on distance teaching. Its campus is located in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. According to the Federal Statistical Office of Germany it is Germany's largest university.
All faculties of the university award undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (bachelor's, master's, doctorate and habilitation), which are equivalent to those awarded by traditional on-campus universities.
The university has four faculties:
Each faculty is headed by a dean and a faculty council.
The University of Hagen operates regional and study centers located across Germany and other countries, which are an important aspect of the university's blended learning concept. At these regional and study centers students attend seminars and preparatory classes for exams, study together with other students, borrow books, and find mentors.
