Every rock group except our lovable Monkees has been invited to a TV audition, so the madcap moptops try to crash their way to stardom - by hounding the producer with gypsy, hillbilly and calypso numbers. Little do they realise that the producer that they are trying to impress is looking for them - but not realising that they are the actual band he is after, he just sees them as a nuisance and ignores their efforts.
The Monkees close the show with a chat about the riots on Sunset Strip.
