This is the soundtrack for the American science fiction television series Firefly. Prior to the CD's release, in September 2005, Fox Music released a shorter version as a downloadable digital EP.

A common criticism made by fans of the series is the omission of "The Hero of Canton, The Ballad of Jayne Cobb" as sung by various characters in the episode Jaynestown.
