The Campus was first used in Term 2 of the school year in 2003, when the students of the newly-formed campus moved from the previous Beacon Hill Technology High School site into the Campus, which was still in the final stages of construction.
Freshwater has an enrolment of around 550 and has around 50 teaching staff. Students enrol at Freshwater for the final two years of high school, Years 11 and 12. Typically, Freshwater takes its students from the Cromer Campus and other campuses of the Northern Beaches Secondary College.
