Furmanov (Russian: Фу́рманов) is a town in Ivanovo Oblast, Russia, known as Sereda (Середа) from 1918 to 1941. Population: 36,149 (2010 Census preliminary results); 40,874 (2002 Census); 46,182 (1989 Census).
In 1918, it was incorporated as a town by the name of Sereda. On March 13, 1941, it was renamed Furmanov after writer and Bolshevik Dmitry Furmanov.
