Gennep ( pronunciation (help·info)) is a municipality and a city in the southeastern Netherlands. Aaldonk, Dam, De Looi, Diekendaal, Gennep, Heijen, Hekkens, Milsbeek, Ottersum, Smele, Ven-Zelderheide and Zelder. Gennep was the title of a comital family, a descendant of which is the famous Saint Norbert of Gennep. Gennep received city rights in 1371. It lies about 18 km southeast of Nijmegen.
