Gheorghe I. Taşcă (1847–1935) was a Romanian landowner and philantropist. He is considered to be the patriarch of the present day Taşcă family.

Gheorghe I. Taşcă was born in Bălăbăneşti, Galaţi, Romania, a member of the Moldavian landed gentry. His great-grandfather was mazil Stan I. Taşcă (1750–1810). His grandfather, Petre S. Gheorghe Taşcă studied at the cyrilic school of the Sfântul Nicolae church of Bălăbăneşti, and continued his studies in Bârlad, graduating in 1864. He started work as civil servant. On November 3, 1866 he married Maria (Marghioala) Dabija (1849-1945). Maria's paternal grandfather was mazil Gavriliţă Dabija, and her maternal grandfather was Captain Dumitrache Taşcă.
The couple settled in Bălăbăneşti and he started his activity as tax collector and communal and county counselor. Taşcă died in Bălăbăneşti, Galaţi, Romania and bequeathed his property...
